With your help, we aim to raise 250,000 NIS to purchase a sailboat in honor of Omri Belkin. This sailboat will be used in educational activities for the Sea Scout youth movement, benefiting at-risk youth and those with special needs.
Omri Belkin was an educator, sailor, soldier, beloved son and brother, and a person of exceptional character. He brought light and laughter into all our lives. He was an amazing friend, always there to support and help when things were tough, to celebrate when they were good, and brighten every encounter with his huge personality. He was handsome, always had a smile on his face and a cynical joke on the tip of his tongue, often holding the guitar he loved to play.
As a child, he was mischievous and energetic, growing up to be loved by everyone, with a captivating smile, infectious laughter, and a huge heart. Omri's love for the sea led him to volunteer as an instructor with the Sea Scouts in Tel Aviv. After graduating high school, he volunteered for a pre-army service year with the Sea Scouts in Netanya.
When it was time to join the army, he sought a meaningful service and joined LOTAR, the IDF’s elite Counterterrorism Unit. After completing his three-year term, he extended his service by several months. He then ensured he maintained active reserve duty status.
After his military service, he returned home to his beloved Sea Scouts, this time to lead the Sea Scouts in Netanya. As always, Omri led with dedication, driven by a deep sense of care and commitment to the children and instructors. He always put them first. Healthy or battling the flu, Omri always showed up, exemplifying leadership, unwavering commitment and a profound sense of responsibility.
After 18 months of dedicated work, Omri traveled to East Asia for a few months with his brother and friends. Immediately after returning to Israel in September 2023, Omri continued to volunteer with the Sea Scouts while also serving in active reserve duty.

On the morning of October 7th, Omri rushed with his LOTAR comrades to Kibbutz Be’eri, where he fought bravely to protect the residents and rescue civilian hostages. He fell heroically at his post, gunned down by terrorists while rescuing hostages. We will always remember him.
To honor Omri’s life and legacy, and to celebrate the years we were fortunate to have with him, we are raising funds to donate a "Snunit" sailboat, along with all the necessary equipment, to the Sea Scouts in his name.
We are certain this is the most fitting way to honor Omri’s legacy. Omri was an excellent sailor who believed in the Sea Scouts’ mission: education through action and seamanship as a tool for teaching values. To him, a boat was not just a vessel but, first and foremost, a means to teach mutual responsibility, accountability, cooperation, respect, true friendship, and, of course, the joy of sailing and the love of the sea.
Help us reach our goal of raising 250,000 NIS to donate a new sailboat to the Sea Scouts in memory of Omri Belkin, RIP.
The funds collected so far will be used for this purpose and included in the total amount raised.
The amount collected beyond the target will be dedicated to commemorating Omri in additional ways, through various projects such as establishing an assistance fund for the underprivileged and disabled, and setting up memorial corners, as decided by the family.
Our Goal
